**At the conclusion of the workshop, there will be an option to stay for the afternoon and become a trained facilitator to lead similar workshops in your community. More information below.
The Project Learning Tree Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood curriculum guide provides an introduction to environmental education for young learners, encouraging children ages 3 to 6 to explore, discover and communicate in expressive ways. The curriculum guide and additional CD include over 130 learning experiences that engage young children in outdoor exploration and play. This workshop will combine the outdoor learning spaces at the NC Zoo with the PLT curriculum guide to provide a professional development event filled with chances to discover your inner child!
This workshop will provide 4.0 CEU hours and 4.0 hours in Criteria II for the NC EE Certification Program. All attendees will leave with the Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood guide AND a code for the K-2 E-Unit, Treemendous Trees!
**We will be hosting a Facilitator Training workshop from 1:30 – 5PM. This additional training will be open to anyone that attends the morning session and would be interested in being certified to host similar workshops in their community on behalf of the NC PLT program. Workshop facilitators are volunteers, but have support from the state NC PLT program. The Facilitator Training will include workshop formats, required paperwork, and support from the state PLT program. If you have questions about becoming a facilitator, please contact PLT State Coordinator, Renee Strnad, at renee_strnad@ncsu.edu.
